On June 13, 2026, the first edition of the Forum of Francophone Education in Egypt took place at the Sofitel Cairo Downtown Nile hotel in Cairo.
Organized by the Embassy of France in Egypt, the event gathered over 300 stakeholders from the education sector, including representatives from the Egyptian Ministry of Education and Technical Education.
The forum aimed to highlight the achievements of francophone education, strengthen existing networks, and explore future development opportunities within the country.
A central theme of the forum was the ambitious goal to establish a network of 100 francophone schools in Egypt by 2035. This initiative is part of a broader strategic partnership between France and Egypt in the education sector. Additionally, the second phase of the TrèFLE 2 project (“Soutien à l’enseignement du français comme deuxième langue dans les écoles gouvernementales”) was announced, aiming to enhance the quality of French language teaching in public schools
